Registrations for teams and mentors opens 8th March 2018

Tech Girls Teams

Register a team of 3-5 girls, aged between 7-17.

Work with your coach and mentor to build a mobile app to solve a problem in your community.

You will be supported by a team of entrepreneurs and the Tech Girls Movement Foundation and will compete against other teams from Primary and Secondary Schools in Australia and New Zealand.  You don’t need any experience with coding or app building.

Exciting awards for the winners!

Coaches

Parents, guardians or teachers can coach girls who register their team, to provide support and encouragement.

Coaches act as the point of contact for the team, provide a place for them to work and help them interact with their mentors.

Mentors

Women who are industry professionals act as mentors to help support the teams of girls to solve problems, develop leadership skills and work their way through the program. They can work face to face with local teams or as a virtual mentor to a more distant team.

Mentors come from technical and other industries and are comfortable working with younger people and inspiring them to be innovators.

Our timeline

The Tech Girls Movement partners with many organisations to invite teams of girls from Australia and New Zealand to solve real-world problems through technology.

We open registrations on International Women's Day (8th March) and then we match each team of girls with a female mentor working in the tech industry. Our 12 week schedule begins in Term 2.

Teams participate in the Search for the Next Tech Girl Superhero competition with a chance to become the State and National winners in Australia and New Zealand.

We encourage teams to align their solution with Technovation's guidelines - and to consider how their app fits with one of the United Nation's Development Goals.

* These six themes are inspired by the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.  Learn more about all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
